Discover Life at Palmse Manor
The manor house exhibition at Palmse offers a captivating insight into how the lords and ladies of the estate once lived. As you walk through the grand rooms, you’ll uncover the rich history of the manor from 1287 to 1980, brought to life through carefully curated stories and interiors.
A highlight of the exhibition is the gallery of forebears, introducing the remarkable individuals who shaped Palmse’s legacy. Among them is Alexander von der Pahlen, a visionary railway builder, and Carl Magnus von der Pahlen, who served as Governor General. You’ll also discover the elegant drawings of Olga von der Pahlen, a talented Baltic German artist from the late 19th century.
Throughout the manor, beautifully restored 18th and 19th-century interiors reveal the everyday life, customs, and tastes of the Baltic German aristocracy. This immersive exhibition offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the world of one of Estonia’s most iconic manors.
