Things to do at Palmse Manor

You have arrived at Palmse Manor, explored the main manor house and are now wondering what else there is to discover and experience. Here are a few suggestions on how to spend more enjoyable time at the manor.
Activities to enjoy for free
Walk around Palmse Manor park and forest trails
Palmse manor and forest park offers peaceful opportunities to enjoy nature throughout the year. Well-maintained paths are suitable for both short strolls and longer, reflective walks in a historically rich and scenic environment. In the forest, three marked hiking trails of varying length and difficulty await visitors, thematically named the Manor Lord’s Trail, Manor Lady’s Trail and Manor Maiden’s Trail.
Explore the historic manor buildings outdoors
While walking around the manor courtyard and parks, visitors can admire a remarkably well-preserved manor complex, including the main manor house, auxiliary buildings and former farm structures. Outdoor information boards help explain the history and functions of Palmse Manor.
Visit the orangery
The Orangery offers a unique contrast within the Estonian manor landscape. Here visitors can see exotic plants and experience how historical manors once created greenhouses and winter gardens.
Visit the exhibition in the former ox stable
The exhibition space located in the former ox stable presents various themes related to Palmse Manor, regional history and nature. In summer 2026, a new exhibition will open, focusing on the restoration story of Palmse Manor and the early years of Lahemaa National Park.
Meet the manor animals
The manor’s domestic animals are a special delight, especially for families and children. Meeting the animals helps visitors better understand historical manor life and traditional farming. Palmse’s horse Uzume, ponies Jaak and Carlos, seven young goats, and dwarf sheep Elli and Belli usually roam in the paddock next to Palmse Tavern. The tavern staff are always happy to help guests find the manor animals.
Enjoy nature and the peaceful manor atmosphere
Palmse Manor is an ideal place to slow down and relax. The tranquillity, open views and well-kept surroundings create the perfect setting for resting, reading, photography or simply enjoying the moment.
